While it is not the rarest resource in the game, it can initially seem difficult to obtain if you do not know where to look.
Many players reach a point in their playthrough where they need Titanium for crafting important modules and vehicles, but they are unsure how to find it. Fortunately, once you understand where Titanium comes from and how to gather it efficiently, obtaining large amounts of it becomes much easier.

What Titanium Is Used For
Before discussing how to obtain Titanium, it is helpful to understand why the material is so valuable in the first place.
Titanium is considered a higher-tier resource in Astroneer and is used in crafting several advanced modules and vehicles. As you progress further into the game and begin building larger and more complex bases, you will notice that many recipes start requiring Titanium.

Where to Find Titanium

Titanite can primarily be found on the planet Glacio.
Glacio is one of the colder planets in the Astroneer solar system and is covered in ice, snow, and frozen terrain. While the surface of Glacio contains some useful resources, the Titanite you need is typically located deeper underground.
Because of this, simply landing on the planet will not be enough. You will need to explore the cave systems beneath the surface in order to locate Titanite deposits.
Once you know this, the process becomes much more straightforward: travel to Glacio, explore the cave systems, mine Titanite, and bring it back to your base for smelting.
Preparing for the Journey
Before traveling to Glacio, it is important to prepare properly. The caves on other planets can be dangerous if you are not equipped with the right supplies, and running out of oxygen or power can easily end your expedition early.
One of the most important items you should bring with you is tethers. Tethers create oxygen lines that allow you to travel safely away from your base or vehicle. Since you will be exploring cave systems, having a large supply of tethers will make navigation much easier.
In addition to tethers, it is also a good idea to bring:

After launching from your starting planet, open the navigation screen and select Glacio as your destination.
When you arrive, try to land near a relatively flat area so you can easily set up tethers or a temporary base. You may also want to bring a small printer or oxygenator if you plan to stay on the planet for an extended period of time.
Once you have landed and established a safe area, the next step is locating the cave systems where Titanite can be found.
Exploring the Caves
Titanite deposits are typically located in the deeper cave layers of Glacio. While you might occasionally find small deposits closer to the surface, the larger and more reliable sources are usually underground.
To access these caves, you can either search for natural cave openings or use your terrain tool to dig downward until you reach a cave system.
As you explore the caves, you will notice a variety of mineral deposits attached to the cave walls and ceilings. Titanite has a distinctive appearance that helps it stand out from other resources.
The mineral appears green and crystallized, often forming clustered formations that glow slightly in the cave environment. Once you learn to recognize it, it becomes much easier to identify while exploring.
Cave exploration can be dangerous, so make sure your tether line remains connected to your oxygen supply. It is also helpful to place tethers frequently so you can easily find your way back to the surface.
Mining Titanite
When you finally locate a Titanite deposit, you can begin mining it using your terrain tool.
Titanite is fairly easy to mine compared to some other materials, so you should be able to collect it quickly once you find a good deposit.
Because traveling between planets takes time, it is usually best to gather as much Titanite as you can carry before returning home. Filling your backpack and storage containers will help ensure you have enough material for multiple crafting projects.
If you are using a rover or tractor with storage attachments, you can collect even larger quantities during a single trip.

Smelting Titanite into Titanium
After returning to your base, the final step is converting Titanite into Titanium.
This process is simple and only requires a Smelting Furnace.
Place the Titanite into the furnace, and it will automatically refine the raw material into Titanium bars. Once smelted, the Titanium can be used for crafting advanced equipment and structures.
Since Titanite is fairly easy to gather once you know where it is located, you can quickly build up a large supply of Titanium for future projects.
Alternative Method: Trade Platform
There is also another way to obtain Titanite without traveling to Glacio.
If you have built a Trade Platform, you can exchange Scrap for certain resources. Titanite is one of the materials available through this trading system.
The trade rate is 2 Scrap for 1 Titanite, which can be useful if you have a large scrap supply but do not want to travel between planets.
However, this method is usually less efficient than mining Titanite directly, especially if you need a large amount of Titanium. Scrap can sometimes be harder to gather in large quantities compared to simply mining Titanite in the caves of Glacio.
Still, the Trade Platform provides a convenient alternative if you only need a small amount of Titanite for a specific crafting project.
