Why I am not Leveling Up in Monster Hunter: World?

Why am I not leveling up?

The main reason you might not be leveling up is because of the level caps at certain Hunter Ranks. During your time playing the game, you will hit walls where it looks like you are not leveling up at all or gaining any Experience. It may look that way, but every piece of Experience you get is Leveling you up. There are 4 different HR caps in the game and they all require you to complete a certain objective or mission to finally move on to the next level.

Keep in mind that when you level up when you are capped, once the cap goes away, you will be given all the Experience and levels you earned beforehand. As you play the game, you won’t really notice any difference with caps because you might have already completed certain quests. It all depends on how fast you are at completing everything.

HR 15 Cap

HR 15 is the first cap that you hit. It is actually pretty easy to get past this one because all you have to do is complete the main story and you will unlock the cap. Once the credits are over, your Experience will be awarded back to you and you might level up a lot depending on how many quests you did before the cap. The rest of the caps are a little easier to unlock, but a lot harder to get to.

HR 29 Cap

HR 29 is the second cap you hit. This one is probably one of the easiest because you will probably be around 30 anyways when you get through the HR 15 cap. All you have to do to get past this cap is to beat the Assigned Quest “Beyond the Blasting Scales.” This quest has you hunting 2 Tempered Bazelgeuses so be ready when the time comes for you to complete the quest.

HR 49 Cap

HR 49 is the third cap you hit. Now, this is where it gets a little hard. To get past this cap, you have to complete the quest “Thunderous Rumble in the Highlands.” This quest is a little bit difficult if you don’t have Iceborne because it is a Tempered Kirin. As you know, the Kirin is a Unicorn Elder Dragon that shoots lightning. It is not an easy fight.

HR 99 Cap

HR 99 is the final cap you will hit and the hardest cap to just get to in general. Most players don’t even make it to HR 100 because it takes a very long time to get there. To unlock the cap, you must complete the quest “The Sapphire Star’s Guidance,” in which you must defeat 3 Elder Dragons in one quest. It is not easy, but you will get The Established Hunter achievement if you reach HR 100. Happy Hunting!
