Today I will be showing you the top 10 best Steam games you can buy for $10 dollars or less. I tried to pick some lesser-known titles that a lot of people might not know about. I hope this video is a help for anyone who is looking for some cheap, but great quality games.
I have always tried to look for great deals on games, and these 10 are by far the best lesser-known titles that I have found. Here are the 10 Steam games.
10. A Short Hike
Number 10 on our list is "A Short Hike". The game is the equivalent of someone telling you to go for a walk to mentally unwind, but doing it by playing a video game instead. Some call it a mix between Animal Crossing and Breath of the Wild. This is a pixilated, single-player, open-world game that you can explore around and go at your own pace.
There’s no need to rush to the summit! Take your time fishing along the river banks or swimming by the lakeshore. You can collect hidden treasures to reach new heights. Even dive the mountain peaks to soar above the forests. You can chat with the other hikers you meet along your route. And you might be able to help each other out. While you explore you can listen to a lush original soundtrack by Mark Sparling that progresses dynamically as you explore the wilderness.
9. Crab Champions
Number 9 on our list is "Crab Champions". This game is a fast-paced shooter with roguelike elements. You travel across exotic islands defeating hordes of enemies and collecting loot, becoming as powerful as possible. This can be played solo or online co-op with up to 3 other players, collecting loot, making an overpowered build, and defeating enemies.
This game is super fun and can be extremely challenging at times. Even when everything goes wrong and we die a horrible, frustrating death we’re ready and willing to jump back in. I am excited to see what they add in the future, but for now, you can catch me on an island somewhere cannibalizing other crabs.
8. Thronefall
Number 8 on our list is "Thronefall". This is a unique tower defense game with many different ways to play. The game gives you plenty of tools to handle whatever it throws at you, and the challenges of the later levels have kept me on my toes trying to figure out new ways to overcome them.
With Thronefall the developer tried to strip a classic strategy game of all unnecessary complexity, combining it with some healthy hack-and-slay. Build up your base during the day, and then defend it til your last breath at night.
7. Retrowave
Number 7 on our list is "Retrowave". This retro-looking game is great if you want to drive down a straight road alone or with friends in '80s supercars speeding down an endless highway. For the very cheap price, it is a good game just to relax and have fun alone or with people.
In this game you will first start with one car, then you will be able to upgrade it or buy other cars with the money earned at the end of each run. You are able to race your car through the different unique worlds that they offer. You will also need to watch out for other vehicles on the road as you might crash and lose out on points.
6. Escape the Backrooms
Number 6 on our list is "Escape the Backrooms". This game gives me SCP: Secret Laboratory vibes as it is a horror exploration game that you can play with or without other people. You have to traverse through eerie backroom levels while avoiding entities and other dangers to try and escape.
For just under $10 this game doesn't provide the best graphics, however, it's more about the thrill, the fun, and the exhilaration of running on infinite stamina while screaming with your friends as some murderous thing is chasing after you. The levels get even more fun as the game progresses and it is highly recommended to play with a group of 4 people as you would not want to play this game solo.
5. PANICORE
Number 5 on our list is "PANICORE". This game gives me Outlast: Trials or Resident Evil vibes as it survival horror game that mixes permadeath, AI monsters, and a co-op experience with up to 5 players. Your goal is to try to escape and don't get caught, however they don't only hear your footsteps, but also your voice from your mic.
For only $5, this is a great game to play with your friends. You will have to solve puzzles, navigate the dangerous corridors, and outwit the monster that wants to trap you in its evil clutches while time is of the essence.
4. Nuclear Blaze
Number 4 on our list is "Nuclear Blaze". This game is a unique 2D firefighting platformer from the creator of Dead Cells, featuring devastating backdrafts, exploding walls, and expected cat rescues. Battle your way through a mysterious government facility, striving to keep the blaze under control.
For only $10, this is by far the best 2D fire game for the price. Your main enemy is simply fire, and you have to put it out with your portable hose and backpack, refilling at regularly spaced stations. It's fun because the fire is alive, spreading up walls, across ceilings, and into adjacent rooms as you'd expect. You have to approach it tactically especially later in the game with more complex rooms, valves to open, gas mains to turn off, and more.
3. Content Warning
Number 3 on our list is "Content Warning". This game is by far the funniest horror game I have ever played. It gives me Lethal Company vibes as you start off in a house and your mission is to go into the diving bell with 1 person holding a camera and the rest have flashlights. The person holding the camera has to record footage of monsters that you find and just overall anything scary (or even funny), you must act like you are recording an exploration YouTube video in real life.
Once you are out of film you get back onto the dive bell and go back to the surface where you will upload the video to SpöökTube and try to get as many views as possible to get famous. You have 3 days to hit the quota of total views and then that gives you money to buy better items, hats, or even items outside to have fun with your friends. I highly recommend playing with a group of 4 people and being careful around the monsters because they can and will kill you.
2. Lethal Company
Number 2 on our list is "Lethal Company". This game is almost like Content Warning in the sense that you have 3 days to meet the quote in order to get more money to buy more items. The difference is that it is much scarier and you don't record video footage, instead, you have to scavenger abandoned moons, and go into the facilities on the moon you are on. You have to find and collect scrap that you then have to bring back to the ship.
You can have hours and hours of fun with your friends, exploring the moons, getting jumped scared by the creatures in the facilities, or even the robots that can have guns.
1. Garry's Mod
And of course, Number 1 on our list is "Garry's Mod". This game is a physics sandbox game that has no set goals and provides players with the freedom to do whatever they want. With a variety of mods available, you can transform the game into practically anything you wish. From creating complex contraptions to playing different game modes like Trouble in Terrorist Town or my favorite, Prop Hunt, the possibilities are endless.
For only $10 this game stands out due to its vast and active community that continuously develops new content. Whether you want to create, explore, or mess around with friends, this game offers endless hours of entertainment.
