The main thing methane is used for in astroneer, is silicone. It can be confusing trying to figure out where to find it or even how to mine it. In this article, I will be showing you how to get methane.
Methane can be found on both Atrox and Novus and harvested using an atmospheric condenser
Where to Find it
- Atrox
- Novus
Two planets that contain methane are Atrox and Novus. I recommend going to Atrox because it has a higher methane level.
What You Will Need
- Atmospheric Condenser
- Large Platform
- Tethers
- Packagers
- Source of Power
Pack and Go
Use the Packagers to condense the larger items so you can fit them on the ship.
Once you are all loaded up you can launch for Atrox.
Set up
Once on Atrox you will want to set up your atmospheric condenser. Once it is on the platform you want to make sure you plug in power.
Getting Methane
Go on the menu of the atmospheric condenser and select methane.
After a little while, a little container will pop out and it will start to fill up.
Once it is filled up, you have a full container of methane.
